what if we looked at the stars
our feet anchored in dark soil
and felt very very small, like seeds
ready to sprout

how new would that be

what if we planted a dream
tucked it in with velvet fingers
whispered: I can see you
burst into abundant leaf

how light would that be

what if we weren’t held to anything
by others or ourselves
and we just opened our arms
to sow closeness

how warm would that be
