Sapling #11

A sky burial is a tradition in some parts of Nepal, Tibet, Mongolia and China. Bodies of the deceased are not buried or burnt, but taken to a mountain slope to be offered to the vultures. The empty shell of the body is returned to nature, the soul is free to leave for its next incarnation.
Some background is given here. The photographic footage of a complete sky burial can be watched here. (Caution: confronting images)
