Scattered across the yard, orange and grey bodies roam — robins

Spring has come

Basking in the early morning sun, a soon to be mother,
bloated with child, perches upon the fence

She overlooks as the others tug at earthworms in the dewy grass

As I watch from my back window, I find peace for this day
