The Stronger Your Grip, The More Opportunities Will Come Your Way

At the average tech event, you have the glasshole standing in the corner, the alpha male leading the conversation, and of course, the annoying networker… walking around the room handing out his business card to everyone accompanied by an awkward: “Hey, if you ever need
[Service X] get in touch!”…

Luckily, those people are outliers at an event. Because the entire room sees what they are doing. Once those annoying people have done this for half an hour no one will take them serious anymore. It’s simply not socially accepted to hand out your business card to everyone in the room without having a conversation.

But online, people don’t know that you just pressed “connect” on 50 LinkedIn profiles and they don’t know if you have just pressed “follow” on 500 other Twitter users.

This results in networking online not being about quality but mainly about quantity. People have become obsessed with the number of LinkedIn endorsements and Twitter followers and although this is partly their own decision the way your “success” on those platforms is measured is exactly in those numbers.

The strength of your network and willingness to collaborate with people shouldn’t be based on the number of connections but on the depth and quality of the relationships you have.

Introducing:
The Strength
Of Your Grip

Today, we are launching, the strength of your Grip. All the way from the ground up it is designed to measure the strength of a professional and his network.

It requires no extra actions for people and all information is boiled down into a percentage between 0 and 100%.

The strength is based on the level of interaction and effort someone puts into every conversation as a professional and how active the person is in growing and engaging with his network.

The same way your rating on marketplaces such as Ebay and Fiverr provide insight into the quality of other people's services.

We will bring the same transparency to professional networking relationships for the first time. On Grip you will have more than a simple profile, you have a new dimension that provides trust and insight based on the effort someone puts into his professional network.

We are very excited about the great feedback we have received so far and can’t wait to hear about how people are improving the strength of their Grip. Also don’t forget to watch this GIF so you know what the ultimate Grip looks like.
