Hey, where did that submit button go?
You might have noticed something different about the collection and story pages. That’s because we have just turned on the new collection changes.
What this means: There are no more open submissions to collections. To have your story included in a collection, there are now three options:
- Be the collection owner
- Be an editor of the collection
- Be a writer for the collection. Your story must first be accepted by the owner or an editor.
Additionally, collection owners can now add writers from the edit screen of their collection, just as you’ve always added editors. Go to your collection homepage and click the “Edit” button in the top right corner to access these settings.
To include your story in a collection (of which you are an owner, editor, or writer), go to the story page itself, and click the down arrow to choose which collection you would like to submit to, from the ones available to you. There is also an arrow where you remove your story from a collection. Remember, a story can only be in one collection!
Writers also have the option to submit a draft to their editors for review before they publish. The editor or owner can then edit and publish that story.
For more information on these changes, please read our announcement post and its follow up.
And of course, yourfriends@medium.com with thoughts and feedback.
