This Is Why You Should Be Using the Medium iOS App
We’ve added some pretty huge new features to our iOS app. If you have an iPhone and are still Medium’ing from the mobile web, here are four reasons to switch to the app.
Write
Meet Mike. Mike was sitting on the bus one day, staring out the window and watching the buildings glide by. Out of nowhere, he was struck by an epiphany about how the future of web design is hidden in the history of architecture. He kept coming up with more and more evidence to support his theory — but he needed a way to capture this stuff before he lost it! Luckily, he had the Medium app on his phone and was able to jot it down and publish his story before it disappeared back into the ether.
Tag
Now, of course Mike wants fellow architecture/web design enthusiasts to get in on this conversation. He adds a few tags to make sure his post is easy to find and properly linked to the topic at hand.
Respond
After a long day at the architecture firm, Fred is on the train home and looking for some good reading. He opens the Medium app and searches for posts tagged “architecture.” The first thing to pop up is that crackpot Mike’s piece about how the future of web design is hidden in the history of architecture. This is all wrong! Fred is incensed. Does he just sit there and stew over it until he gets home? No way. He can write a response directly from the bottom of the story.
Highlight
Elizabeth is walking out the door of her web design shop when her phone lights up. Fred, her irritable architect friend, has just published a response to this crazy theory that Mike had. Interesting. After reading both posts, she sides with Mike. He makes several good points that she is able to highlight directly within the app. Mike, who was feeling down after Fred’s brutal rebuttal, gets a sweet email notifying him that Elizabeth highlighted his story, and he feels better about life.
Medium just works better in the app. You can download it here.
P.S. Android fam, we haven’t forgotten about you. Your app is coming soon!
