Welcome to Week Nine of the 2022 Writing Prompt Journey! Whether you are just discovering us this week (welcome!), or you have been with us since the beginning (all you wonderful, familiar, talented folks), remember you can always go back to previous prompts from previous weeks whenever you like. These prompts are here to inspire you 365 days a year, 24 hours a day! You can find all the previous prompts here.

Poetry has always been my favorite form of writing. It got me through so many emotional times as a teenager (oh those angsty poems), and it helps me to express myself even today.

I’m also known for saying things with 500 words when 10 words would suffice, so I love short poetic forms like haiku and tanka for the challenge they bring to someone who is not usually so pithy.

If you’re here, I’m going to assume you love writing and reading poetry, as well. So, welcome kindred spirits!
