Loving Our Failures: The Imperfectly Beautiful Parts of Us
The flaws that define who we are
The “original sin” was committed by an extraordinary woman whose one mistake changed the course of humanity — and I love her for it.
I can remember being a kid in elementary school and I had the audacity to question the story of Eve.
The way Eve was blamed for the fall of man by making Adam eat the “apple” — the forbidden fruit — didn’t resonate with me.
From my perspective, she was considered the first sinner, kicked out of paradise, and was the catalyst for the hardship we now face.
Throughout history, this very act was and is still being used to suppress women in all our ways.
At the time, in my limited perspective, I viewed that act as the ultimate shame, as it has become a gateway to blame women for the problems of this world. But that sin has led to nations being built, for women are the source and the portal for the incarnation of souls into this realm.
Perhaps Eve’s sin was inevitable, and her fate was destined because she became the mother of humanity. For that, I no longer view Eve as a sinner, in my eyes, she was fearless, self-aware, and phenomenal. Her boldness led to greatness and that is one of the true essences of a woman.
