The Irony of Being a Single Modern Woman Trying to Hold On to Her Femininity
Most of us are stuck between being too masculine (a rock) and a soft place (a hard place).
My cousins and I were just sitting around having a deep conversation that we hadn’t had in months about our love lives. So, before I proceed, I have to give some context to the situation:
I may be the most feminine cousin out of the bunch, yet the irony is that not only do I work like I’m filling in the place of a man who is non-existent in my life, but my love life has also been hiding under a rock for years.
So, talking about a love life is like speaking a new language. But when hanging out with women, you will discuss love, loss, regret, or contentment. Oh! And sports. Yeah. We talk about sports. *As I am lying and typing at the same time.*
When I mention sports, it’s not because I understand or care about the game. It’s more so because I like the anatomy of the men playing the game. Okay! I’m a butt-watcher! There! I said it! Next subject, please!
But the point is that whenever my cousins and I get together, we always discuss the one topic (our love life) I prefer to avoid – even though I may bring it up first. But hey! I’m nosey! And if I can get others to talk…
