‘Education’ is the Perfect Ending to ‘Small Axe’

Educational reform is an essential part of pursuing racial justice.

The inequities in the British educational system are on display in the final installment of Small Axe. In Education, we meet a twelve-year-old boy, Kingsley (Kenyah Sandy) who is sent to a school for those children with “special needs.” He is an incredibly bright child, he simply has trouble reading, something that his former school is unwilling to help him learn.
