‘Nightmare Alley’ is a Thrilling Ride

And a cautionary tale about the dangers of believing your own mythology.

I’m always in the mood to watch noir. The problem is that I often struggle to find good modern noirs. Filmmakers keep trying to revitalize or build upon this genre and often, though not always, end up falling flat (in my opinion). If you have any suggestions on good noir films, please let me know!
