Greetings,

Welcome you all to the second prompt of the theme “Consistency”.

If you have missed yesterday's prompt, here you can read it.

As I always say, to find the solution to any problem first you have to identify the reason behind it. Without knowing that problem, how can you be able to solve the problems?

Therefore, in this prompt, we will discuss some of the common reasons that are making you inconsistent with your work which will help you to find your reason for struggling with inconsistency.

Here are some of the common reasons for being inconsistent and solutions to be consistent.

You don’t have goals

Making goals is the very first step of being consistent. If you want to be consistent with something, first you have to know what is that thing for example do you want to change your morning routine or you want to join a gym to be fit, etc.

You might be inconsistent because you don’t know what your path or goal is. So, it’s easy to overcome.

“If you’re bored with life – you don’t get up every morning with a burning desire to do things – you don’t have enough goals."

–Lou Holtz

Solution

You just have to take your planner and start writing down your goals. What do you want to achieve? According to your goal, make your daily schedule and stick to it to practice consistency.

You Procrastinate

This could be your second reason why you are being inconsistent. Whenever you try to work on your goals, you procrastinate.

Procrastination is a habit that you have to get rid of. You have to work hard to avoid that habit because in a long term it will make your life meaningless.

“Procrastination is the bad habit of putting of until the day after tomorrow what should have been done the day before yesterday.”

-Napoleon Hill

Solution

In the first week of this challenge, I have written 7 prompts about “Procrastination” that will help you to get rid of this habit.

Here, you can take a look.

I hope it helps.

You don’t know how to manage your time

If you want to be consistent, first you have to master your time. We all have multiple tasks to do in a day and we all have 24 hours in a day. Time is essential. You have to be very wise when it comes to spending your time.

There are many times when you missed some tasks because of poor time management and you will lose all your motivation which breaks your entire schedule.

Therefore, it’s important to learn how to manage your time wisely.

“Who controls the past, controls the future: who controls the present controls the past.”

-George Orwell

Solution

In the second week of this challenge, I have written 7 prompts about “Time Management” that will help you to get rid of this habit.

You have self-doubts

Self-doubts can kill you from inside. I have been at the stage in my life when I filled myself with self-doubts and it made me feel like I am the biggest loser on this earth. It will gradually decrease your self-esteem and you are unable to achieve anything in your life.

“Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt.”

-William Shakespeare

Solution

No one is perfect. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. We can’t escape from it. Therefore, the first step you have to do is accept yourself the way you are. I know it’s easy words to write and read but it is hards to do. However, you have done it anyway. Do positive self-talk and love yourself.

You are multitasking

This can be another reason that why you are inconsistent because to be consistent, you are doing multitasking. Multitasking has its pros and cons.

When you do multitask, your mind tends to feel tired early and you can’t focus between any of two things. So, it’s better to do one task at one time with efficiency.

“Multitasking is the ability to screw everything up simultaneously.”

-Jeremy Clarkson

Here I shared my experience with multitasking which might help you.

Today’s prompt is,

Find out your reasons, that why are you not able to be consistent? It’s something that you need to change about yourself and start working on it.

I hope you enjoyed this piece.

I would like to invite Arbab Z. Hamsalekha Giulietta Passarelli Erica J Lucia Landini Libby Shively McAvoy to share their views.
