Greetings writers,

I hope you all are well. The Summit is back with the full motivation and spirit to uplift you all.

From now onwards, The Summit will publish weekly motivational prompts that will give you a chance to share your motivation with others. This is the start of a motivational journey that will help you to make yourself a better version of yourself.

We all are unique in terms of how we look, what we feel, and behave. In our lives, there may sometimes come stages when we start comparing ourselves with others. We all have done it in our lives. Isn’t it?

When I was a child, I had a habit of constantly comparing myself with my surrounding people. It affected my mental health a lot and that was the reason why I was never able to accept and love myself. When you start comparing yourselves, you destroy your inner self.

I had to stop myself to improve my life. Constantly comparing yourself with others brings nothing valuable but discomfort, anger, and sadness in your life. It will not improve your life but destroy it for sure.

If you ask me, what is my biggest mistake in life?

It is that I compared myself with others. If I didn’t do it, I had more time to improve myself and my life.

“Comparison kills your creativity and makes your dreams blurry.” — Nitin Namdeo

Moreover, I started comparing my present self to my past self to improve my life.

“Comparison with myself brings improvement, comparison with others brings discontent.” Betty Jamie Chung

If you want to track your progress then comparing yourself with your past self is the best way to know how much progress you have made in life. This brings contentment, satisfaction, and happiness. When you track your progress, you learned more about your uniqueness.

Therefore, focus on making yourself better than comparing yourself. Do what you love and become the best at it. To make yourself your best version, you need to find your purpose.

What is your purpose for living?

The journey starts when you know why you are living. When you know the “Why”, then you will make your path.

Knowing your life purpose is the first step toward living a truly conscious life. A life purpose provides us with a clear goal, a set finish line that you truly want to reach. — — — — -Simon Foster

Once, you find your purpose, be courageous enough to do what you want to do. There might be things that require courage to do. It is important to face your fears.

“Courage is the most important of all the virtues because without courage you can’t practice any other virtue consistently. You can practice any virtue erratically, but nothing consistently without courage.” — Maya Angelou

After all, it takes courage to stand up for yourself and your dreams.

The third most important thing you need to make yourself best is hard work. Once you know your purpose and dare to do what you want to do, give your 100 percent effort to make it the best. Never fear to do the hard work.

Winners embrace hard work. They love the discipline of it, the trade-off they’re making to win. Losers, on the other hand, see it as punishment. And that’s the difference.

Lou Holtz

In the end, do what makes you happy. Happiness is an important part of life. Find happiness and contentment in what you do.

Best Version = Purpose + Courage + Hard Work + Happiness

‒ William Faulkner
