Issue #6: Italians and Labor Unions
I’ll never forget how I learned what a scab was.
It was 2002, and a new Price Chopper was being built in the Town of Newburgh to replace the old one. They were not using union labor, nor were the workers of Price Chopper itself unionized.
My elementary school was about a mile down the road from this plaza, and we would pass it any time my mom or dad drove me to school.
