Stroll the beautiful gardens and take in the amazing art collection at the Reynolda House Museum of American Art in this episode of Winston On The Weekends.

ONCE THE ESTATE OF R. J. AND KATHARINE REYNOLDS, Reynolda Gardens is a 129-acre center for recreation in the North Carolina Piedmont.

The Reynolda Gardens were originally conceived as a gift to the community. About 50 years ago in 1967, the museum opened as another gift to the community. The two are tied together because of the history of the estate and the family. People have been coming to Reynolda House as a staple of their visit to Winston Salem for at least a hundred years.

Reynolda Gardens are free to visit.

Originally owned by RJ and Katharine Reynolds, the Reynolda House and beautiful property have always been the centerpiece for locals to enjoy a combination of art and nature. This is a place where you can bring family and friends on a summer day and spend the afternoon walking through the gardens, strolling through the shops, and touring the museum inside the restored mansion.

The Reynolda House hosts an annual community day event that is free and open to the public. “We open the doors to the Museum and the grounds offering tours, activities and fun performances. It’s a really great day for anybody to come and have a really wonderful time free of charge.” — Chris Jordan, Director of Public Programs

The Reynolda Gardens estate has 129 acres to stroll and discover.

It is always free to walk to the property and gardens when you feel like going for a stroll. And there’s almost always an event on the front lawn to take advantage of. Inside, the Museum showcases a rotating exhibition of world-renowned artists. Reynolda House puts the art into The City of Arts and Innovation.
