Burlington County Freeholder Director Joe Donnelly recently announced that the county is kicking off a logo contest.

All Burlington County High School students are encouraged to become a part of county history by participating in the contest.

Students are asked to submit original designs for a new County logo that will build upon our new tag line: “South Jersey Starts Here.”

“Our county seal is a part of our history and will stay a part of the county, but we are looking for a logo that represents what is happening in the county now and also take us into the future,” said Donnelly.

The logos will be judged for originality, creativity, relevance to the county and connection with the tag line.

One grand prize of $250 will go to the chosen logo and nine additional $25 prizes will go to finalists.

“Burlington County enjoys a rich history, a bustling business community, a thriving farming community, and a huge array of parks, forests and other environmental resources,” said Donnelly. “The new logo needs to capture these many assets.”

Logo finalists will be displayed on the county website. All submission must be at least 1 MB in size and sent electronically by emailing Donnelly at Donnelly@co.burlington.nj.us and must be received by 4 p.m. on March 29. Submission must include the student’s name, school and grade as well as contact information.

“We are looking forward to seeing how creative our students can be with their designs,” said Donnelly.

The county is hoping to get sponsors to help us out with the prizes.

Anyone interested should contact Donnelly at the Burlington County Freeholder’s Office at (609) 265–5020.

A list of the contest rules and guidelines can be found on the county website www.co.burlington.nj.us/freeholders or for more information please call (609) 265–5028.
