Burlington County offers final recycling and shredding event of 2015 on Dec. 5

Burlington County Freeholders announced that the final electronics recycling and shredder event of 2015 will be held on Saturday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. — 1 p.m. at the Burlington County Resource Recovery Complex, 22,000 Burlington-Columbus Road in Florence, NJ 08518.

“This popular event drew almost 900 residents in October, bringing in 20,000 pounds of documents for shredding and 31,000 pounds of ‘E-waste’ for recycling,” said freeholder director Mary Ann O’Brien. “Residents can remain in the comfort of their cars while volunteers unload their cars.”

Residents are urged to bring only “confidential” documents for shredding, such as bank and credit card statements, tax returns, papers with account numbers or social security numbers. They will be shredded on-site. Please, no binders, plastic folders, computer disks or plastic credit cards. Up to four bags or boxes per car will be accepted. Already-shredded paper can also be recycled at this event.

In addition to TVs and computer equipment, residents may bring the following:

·Desktop copiers

· Scanners

· Fax machines

· VCR/DVD/MP3 players,

· Cell phones

· Game consoles

· Vehicle batteries.

· Microwaves

· Stereos/equipment

· Record players

· Vacuum cleaners

· Irons

· Toasters

· Blenders

· Mixers

· Non-working strings of holiday lights
