Britain Owes Meghan for the Royal Wedding

Britain owes Meghan more than half a billion dollars for the wedding.

There has been many royal weddings before Meghan’s. And white Brits never claimed the whole wedding was just for the bride. They never demanded that the bride pay back the wedding expense the way they are demanding from Meghan.

When Diana married Charles in a big, televised, expensive wedding, no white Brit claimed the wedding was all for Diana and that Diana owed the British tax payers for the expense spent on the wedding. When Fergie married Andrew, no one claimed the wedding was just for Fergie. When Kate and William had a multi-million dollars wedding, the Brits didn’t hold Kate accountable for all the expense.

Put simply, when royal brides were white, Brits saw the royal wedding for what it was: a PR event for the Royals and the British economy.

But when the bride became a Black woman, royal weddings are all of the sudden an expensive gift for the bride. The Brits all of the sudden want the bride to pay back all the money they spent on the wedding. They want Meghan Markle to write them a check for the wedding expense.

Let’s forget the fact that there were two people getting married that day. So if Meghan has to pay back the money spent on the wedding, so should Harry.. But for some reason, white Brits only hold Meghan accountable. Let’s forget that Meghan and Harry didn’t even want the wedding. They already had their sacred vow exchanges three days earlier in a private ceremony.

Let’s forget that most of the expense for the wedding was actually spent on security. The reason there was so much security needed was not because of Meghan but because of the royal family she is marrying to. Let’s forget that most of the guests at the wedding were from Harry’s side.

Let’s forget all of that and focus on purely the accounting part of the wedding. I am going to accept the racist claim that Meghan should shoulder all the expense for the wedding. I call this racist because other royals brides were never asked to pay for their wedding. But like I said, let’s accept that the wedding was thrown just for Meghan and Meghan alone and she has to pay back every last penny spent on it.

According to Fox, the wedding cost $45 million. So, Meghan owes the British tax payers that amount. But if all the cost of the wedding is to be paid by Meghan, it is only fair that all the revenue the wedding generated belongs to Meghan.

So, how much did MEGHAN’S wedding generate in revenue? A lot, lot, lot more than what it cost.

Meghan’s wedding generated more than $1 BILLION in revenues. It brought more than $350 million in tourism dollars. Shops and restaurants made a lot of money from the wedding. The wedding brought money for the PR industry.

Like I said the wedding was not for Meghan, not even for Harry. But since the Brits insist that the money they spent on the wedding was all for Meghan, well, then, the money the Wedding generated is all Meghan’s.

The British economy and its tax payers, owe Meghan more than $950 million. That is number you get when you deduct the cost of the wedding from the revenue SHE generated and pay her the rest.

So, pay up. Pay Meghan her money. Cut her the check. $950 million is probably an underestimate of what you really owe her. But for now, let’s start with paying that much and you will pay more later. I mean, Meghan brought you so much positive PR while she was in your country. I am sure that PR is worth millions of dollars.
