BORN YESTERDAY INTO FOREVER

short answer, yes
only telling you what you already know
you have always been a healer
and your very first client was yourself
isn’t that always the way of the work?
a way you’ve traveled, and then
a road your heart has laid, and now
a journey calling you now as a guide
an experienced leader
listening in the dark forest
for the weeping of the lost
as above, so below
as within, so without
so, what are you really without?
who are you really, within?
dreaming alongside the child within you
the God within you
the Goddess within you
sharing space
balancing yourself as one small mirror
refracting a planet that requires balance
seeking in every moment
just as you do
sphinx said no
nothing beyond the mystery
but we don’t take no for an answer, do we?
this sword in this stone
it was there for you
it was always yours
alongside your cup
bright blessed healing water
pouring out over everything you touch in love
and still the two-headed nickel of life’s disappointments
leaves the laundromat in your back pocket again
you can hang out with indecision
he’s a good friend in an unknown
but eventually time always chooses itself
the salad may well wilt
undressed in all your worries
wrapped up in a soggy maybe
and even inside all that
the sword and the cup are yours
leave the baggage
take the lessons
the whole thing flows
according to the rhythm
in your veins
in your heartbeat
under your feet
you are a train leaving a platform and also
the person standing alone on the platform
breathlessly watching the train depart
your future self will miss today
in just the same manner
as you, today, miss yesterday
allow every day to be the beginning
bound by nothing
unbound in everything
born yesterday, as they say
and unfolding into infinite tomorrows
