Diosa de la Cosecha
or, Harvest Goddess
a Tarot+Poem by The Bootleg Bodhisattva
Part I
Knock knock.
Who’s there?
Strife,
coming to test your Power.
Defeat leaves cracks in the pavement
weathering the storm as the ground shifts beneath you
You, beloved, You Alone
are the sovereign prince of your fire
artful, you return to the drawing board
another kind of mortar, next time
a different blending of clay for your bricks
artful, your skills a mastery
testing and re-testing the science of your spirit
the castle of the Empress is built
only of intuitive experience
testing your incarnation
chop wood, carry water
the next debtor will arrive shortly
greet them warmly
long ago they received your invitation
greet each of your moments as an emissaries
of far away kingdoms never reached by thought
only experience
alight the crown of unfurling knowledge
warm green vines
growing from the seeds of the Unknown
Part II
sunflowers, pumpkin, squash & sweet potato
a harvest is a very literal thing
patience, knowledge, fortitude & forgiveness
a harvest is a very metaphorical thing
honesty guides the way to true balance
a harvest is a very time-consuming thing
within / without
below / above
feminine / masculine
all this and more is required of us
on our endless unfolding journeys
unfolding like that green vine
from the cracks in the pavement
the cracks of chaos
the cracks of defeat
gave us just enough room to grow
laughing along with our own struggles
too amused to be deterred.
