Last week, Microsoft said that its next-gen Windows would be unveiled “very soon.” Now, the company has set a date for it: we’re going to see “what’s next for Windows” at an event on June 24 at 11 AM ET.

This new update to Microsoft’s operating system is codenamed “Sun Valley,” and reports suggest that it’ll bring refreshed UI elements, along with other changes.

A report from Windows Central notes that the new Windows update will bring a redesigned taskbar with pinned apps. Plus, it could make the system tray work better with touch screen devices.

What’s more, the company could overhaul its current app store to bring more apps and games and make it easier to find them. Developers might be able to submit different types of apps, including browsers such as Firefox and Chrome.

Apart from this, more features such as a battery usage chart, news, and interests widget in the taskbar, and better tab management on Microsoft’s Edge browser are coming to this version of Windows.

As the Verge reported in March, the tech giant is also planning to bring the Auto HDR feature — available in Xbox X and Xbox S series consoles — to improve the gaming experience on the PC.

This seems like an exciting update for Windows users, so don’t forget to tune into for all the related coverage on June 24.
