Analyst predicts Apple may be able to ship 40 million iPhone X units this year

Apple’s new flagship iPhone X’s pre-orders will start on October 27th. Following that, the release date of after a week means November 3. However, the phone costs $999, and it is, so far, counted as the most exclusive smartphone in the market. Though the phone is exclusive, analyst KGI Securities is predicting that Apple may not be able to fill the consumer’s demand for the iPhone X this year.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo from KGI Securities on Friday said that “this year Apple might able to ship about 40 million iPhone X which won’t be nearly enough to meet consumer demand for this year”. They first thought that at the end of this year Apple might supply as many as 50 million iPhone X.

OLED DISPLAY AND 3D SCANNING CAMERA

Kuo also noted that iPhone’s X’s OLED display and the front-facing 3D-scanning camera setup are the main reason for downing iPhone ‘s production. To fill up the consumer demand of iPhone X, it would require at least the first half of 2018. In that time, Apple may manage to sell approximately 90 million iPhone X units around the world.

By the way, iPhone 8 and 8 Plus’s pre-orders have already started from yesterday. The shipping of these is supposed to start from September 23.
