Earlier today, a number of Facebook users have reported that they were locked out of their account. After being forced off the page, they also got the message saying that their account may be in use by another person, thus they couldn’t even log back in.

A TECHNICAL ERROR

Fearing the worst, many of them have expressed their frustration through Twitter. However, the good news is, none of the accounts that were locked out have been hacked. It was a technical error occurred from the social media’s end.

Facebook also clarified that they have fixed the issue and there’s nothing to be panicked.

Earlier today an error in one of our systems designed to help prevent suspicious account access sent a small set of people to our account recovery flow unnecessarily. We have fixed the issue and are in the process of clearing the affected accounts from this recovery flow. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The social media couldn’t say exactly how many accounts have been affected so far. Earlier this week, there was another outage. Lots of Facebook users complained that they could log in but had difficulty seeing the news feed.

So, if you’re one of them who were locked out, keep calm. Your account isn’t hacked. This issue will be solved by its own.
