Frequent Cyber Attacks on Turkey, Anonymous Takes Credit

So it is not ISIS anymore, Anonymous hacktivists are causing chaos for countries as well. They are taking credit for an escalating series of cyber attacks that have disrupted banks, internet backbones and government websites in Turkey.
Their possible reason is they want to punish Turkey for allegedly turning a blind eye to activities that fund ISIS’ extremism, such as oil smuggling. Reportedly the attacks have been so fierce that they took down access to 400,000 sites and left Turkey blocking traffic in an attempt to keep sites online.

But there is a big question whether or not Anonymous is primarily responsible for the attacks. By observing the attacks, a site address administrator says that the attacks stem from “organized sources” outside of Turkey. This information may not be completely reliable until proven right. They are also thinking that this may be Russian retaliation for Turkey shooting down one of its warplanes.
For now, the government refuses to point fingers. It is saying that it has things under control. The way cyber crimes are spreading in the names of ISIS and other anonymous hacktivists, it will take time to stop such digital assault, let alone get a clear idea of who’s to blame.
