HTC made Nexus specs leak out

Android Police has managed to obtain the first hands-on with the specifications of a new Nexus smartphone made by HTC. The devices go under the names “Sailfish” and “Marlin” with screen sizes of 5 inches and 5.5 inches respectively. Unlike the Marlin, the Sailfish would exhibit many similarities with the HTC 10. However, Marlin would just get a completely new design.

Further, the Marlin would be equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821, the upgraded version of the Snapdragon 820. Also, speakers are on the bottom of both phones, something that previously did not happen in the case of Nexus phones. The speakers were located far to the front of the unit.

The leaked specifications show that the Sailfish is equipped with a Quad-core 2.0GHz 64-bit processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 2770mAh battery, a 12-megapixel camera, an 8-megapixel front shooter, USB-C port and a fingerprint scanner. The headset would be on the top.

In January, HTC was already tipped as the manufacturer of two Nexus smartphones for 2016. Previously, HTC manufactured the Nexus 9 for Google, which wasn’t very good, but its original Nexus One was really cool, so perhaps Sailfish and Marlin will be the re-do HTC wants. Here’s to hoping that they produce great phones this time which works as they should.
