Is Chromecast Going to be Google Cast?

Google is earnestly trying to redefine the service of Chromecast, that is TV and audio experience. For a change, the company was dedicated to upgrading the application. Thus, this week, the updated version has already arrived. Google may name it Google Castrather than continuing with the previous name Chromecast.

Google is, it would seem, getting the help it needs from manufacturers to do just that. Vizio, one of the company’s old manufacturers, today revealed a new set of 4K, HDR TVs that rely solely on Google Cast to get streaming content from third-party apps. For that reason, Google is now changing the name of the Chromecast app to Google Cast that will represent the broadness of the platform.

Vizio ended up being the first company to use that platform for 4K and HDR video, with all of its work integrating Google Cast. Still, the reliance on casting could be an issue: It’s not supported by Amazon’s Prime video. Ultimately, Vizio will just have to wait until Amazon decides to fully support Google Cast. If you want to watch Amazon’s video in high quality with a P-Series TV, you’ll need a separate set-top box.

As Google Cast can be found on many televisions, monitors and speakers nowadays, and it has been the platform’s name since the early days — Chromecast becoming Google Cast makes sense. As for now, the new update is rolling on Android and iOS from this week.
