LG G5 Launched — Reinvents The Smartphone

LG took the wraps off its flagship smartphone, the G5 on 21st February. This time, LG made a more premium-feeling device with a lot of extras including — dual-rear cameras, optional swappable modules for the camera and high-definition audio, curves in all the right places, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, removable battery, expandable storage.

Metal Body with Removable Battery

Smartphone makers have been making us choose between either a more premium feeling metal device with sealed components or a plastic phone with a removable battery, but the new G5 brings the best of both. This is a phone with an aluminum-clad body and a removable battery, thanks to an innovative modular design.

LG Cam Plus

It additionally gives you two plug-in modules. The first one is the LG Cam Plus, which replaces the bottom of the phone with a bulky backpack. It offers an enlarged camera grip that covers hardware buttons for the camera and video recorder along with a wheel used for zooming for single-handed photography. It also contains extra battery power expanding it from 2,800mAh to 4,000mAh.

Hi-Fi Plus

And the other plug-in is the Hi-Fi Plus that boosts the phone’s sound system. It is an external 32-bit DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) and amplifier combo unit, on display made by Bang and Olufsen. Unlike the first module, it doesn’t affect much the shape of the phone.
