Mark Zuckerberg Wished Everyone a Happy Chinese New Year in Mandarin

Last Saturday, Facebook’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg posted a video on his Facebook page wishing viewers in the Mandarin language, it was done on the occasion of the Chinese new year, which for this year is called “year of the Monkey.”

Normally, every 12 years counts as a year of the monkey. In the Chinese astrology, every single year is involved with a Chinese zodiac animal sign, and the monkey is 9th of 12 animals in the recurring 12 years Chinese zodiac cycle. There are 5 elements’ names which are related with the monkey sign as Water, Gold, Wood, Fire, and Earth. Every element’s name changing happens after 12 years, therefore, the Element-Sign combinations recur every 60 years.

Furthermore, Mark accomplished his Mandarin Chinese skill by doing several years’ of study and visiting in China, another advantage is as his wife Priscilla Chan’s parents were Chinese, it also supported him to achieve the fluency he has in the Mandarin language.

Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla along with their two-month-old daughter Max appeared in the video when he wished viewers mentioning “health and prosperity” and also shared their sole young angle’s new Chinese name “Chen Mingyu.”
