Samsung Gear IconX — The First Ever Wireless Earbuds With Activity Tracking!

This year we might have found some of the wearables and also the hearable kits from a different company; it’s a year of Hearables indeed! Samsung has recently joined with the vibe of such hearables after their success in the wearables journey. Surprisingly, they named it Samsung Gear IconX! After unveiling the new Gear Fit2 fitness tracker, Samsung hasn’t given us much info on its new earbuds yet. Until we get this Gear IconX earbuds to use in person, here’s all that we know so far about the Gear IconX as per Samsung’s statement.

Samsung has said that the IconX’s were designed and produced in a small size to stay attentive when you’re doing your workout or exercising in your lawn, or on the go! As should be obvious in the photograph above, there are removable parts that ought to make cleaning the buds and the whole earbud itself easy.

The Gear IconX earbuds feature the similar way of volume up-down, changing songs and the voice command like the other earbuds in the market. But what makes it stand out of the crowd is the Internal 4GB of storage to provide nearly 1000 songs inside of this earbuds, so that you can hear your favorite songs without connecting to your Android phones.

As for fitness tracking, the IconX has a built-in accelerometer and heart rate monitor to track your movement, heart rate, and distance travelled, which then calculates calories burned. Well, this alone might make it stand out from the other earbuds in the market! Just like the Gear FIT2, Samsung inputs the powerful tracking tool such as Endomondo, Runkeeper, MapMyRun, and Strava for the heart rate monitoring issue.

These earbuds can only be run by Android devices running Android 4.4 and above, and which have 1.5GB or more RAM.

With all these features, surprisingly Samsung put a tremendous benchmarking price tag ($199) to launch this Gear IconX later this year in Q3! To be very precise, it’s worth it considering the level of innovation coming with all these features they have given inside this little fella.
