Samsung Reportedly To Launch Foldable Smartphones In 2017

We definitely know by now that Samsung is taking a shot at foldable smartphones inside its Project Valley and we’ve likewise seen some conceivable designs. The last time we heard there were bits of gossip about its release in January this year — that clearly didn’t happen. Presently, it would appear that the gadget won’t be coming this year.

“Development of Foldable OLED is taking place according to our plan. We are planning on mass-production and release of this product by discussing with our partners,”

said director Lee Chang-hoon of Samsung displays earlier in January.

Another report from Samsung’s nation of origin of South Korea is guaranteeing that the company will begin mass-delivering foldable displays by the end of this current year, with foldable cell phones coming one year from now.

“Although mass-production cannot be concluded hastily since Samsung Electronics still has few other major tasks to complete, I’ve heard that Samsung Electronics had made considerable amount of results in the time being,”

Said an unnamed representative familiar with the development of Samsung’s foldable Smartphone told ETnews.

The report takes note of that Samsung’s foldable gadget would be a folded form of 5-inch smartphone, and would turn into a 7-inch tablet when it is opened or unfolded. Past bits of gossip have indicated that the company is trying both Snapdragon 620 and 820 for its Project Valley handset while RAM will be 3GB.
