Samsung unveils new Galaxy A (2017) series

At CES this year, Samsung released its Galaxy A (2017) smartphone series with a new Galaxy A3, A5, and A7.

The devices in the new series are made with premium metal frames and 3D glass back. All three features fingerprint sensors, USB Type-C ports and IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. Only the Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) receives the fast charging technology.

Galaxy A3 (2017)

The Galaxy A3 (2017) is the most reasonable version with a 4.7-inch screen with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. Under the hood, there is a 1.5 GHz Exynos 7870 chipset, 2350mAh of battery, a 13-megapixel rear and a front 8-megapixel shooter.

Galaxy A5 (2017)

The Galaxy A5 is a more expensive alternative with high-end specifications compared with the A3. The smartphone features a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED screen. There’s an Exynos 7880 chipset in combination with 3GB of RAM. In the camera area, there are 16 megapixels snappers on both rear and front.

The Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) also has 32GB of internal storage, which is expandable with a microSD card.

Galaxy A7 (2017)

The A7 (2017) is the most powerful of the three. The phone comes with a large 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with full HD (1080p) resolution and the same camera configuration as the Galaxy A5.

Unfortunately, all smartphones will be shipped with Android 6.0 operating system. It is also unclear whether these handsets can expect an update to Android 7.0. The handsets will be available in Russia from early-January, then gradually in more markets across the globe.
