Samsung’s new curved gaming monitors are every PC gamers’ dream

Samsung announced this Monday that it’s going to roll out two new curved gaming monitors, the CFG70 and the CF791, powered by the quantum dot displays. The former will ship in two sizes, 24-inches, and 27-inches and the second one will come in a drool-worthy 34-inch display.

For your information, quantum dots are tiny crystal semiconductors, which cast colored light. Compared to traditional display technology, it can generate more accurate color.

The CFG70 models feature Samsung’s Gaming UX OSD interface and an 1800R curvature. These two displays will put smiles on gamers’ face by boasting a 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time.

Meanwhile, the CF791 features a 100Hz refresh rate that works with AMD FreeSync, a 21:9 aspect ratio, and a curvature radius of 1,500mm (1500R), which is claimed to be the most curved gaming monitor available on the market.

“As the gaming market continues to enjoy rapid worldwide growth, gamers expect advanced display technologies that can bring out the latest video game features and optimize the gameplay experience,” said Seog-gi Kim, Senior Vice President, Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics. “By enhancing our pioneering curved gaming monitors with quantum dot technology, our CFG70 and CF791 displays further surround players and make them feel as if they are part of the game. We are excited to demonstrate this futuristic and immersive gaming environment at IFA 2016.”

Samsung will unveil these monitors at IFA this week. The price is set for the 24-inch CFG70 at $399, $499 for the 27-inch, and $999 for the 34-inch CF791.
