Twitter comes with Olympic emoji

Twitter is in all spheres of Olympics since today. The social media networking service has added more than 200 new Olympic emoticons.

“The Rio 2016 Olympic Games begin this Friday with the #OpeningCeremony at Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and fans around the world can stay close to all of the action on Twitter, Vine and Periscope. Here’s your how-to-follow guide.”

Twitter wrote.

“Fans across the globe can share their passion for their favorite teams on Twitter with 207 team emojis.”

According to twitter, following the official hashtag, #Rio2016, and these official accounts is the best way to stay close to the Olympics conversation on Twitter.

So, #TeamNL shows the logo of the Dutch team, an orange tulip. Apart from the Netherlands, only the United States and Brazil also own team logo using the hashtags teamUSA and TeamBrazil. All other teams have an emoji in the form of its own flag. Tweeting with the three-letter country code hashtag will generate flag emojis for each team including the Refugee Olympic Team (#ROT).

Also hashtags like the Olympics, Rio2016, Gold, Silver, and Bronze provide an emoji, as well as names of sports such as #CyclingBMX or #Archery for BMXs and archery. Spanish, Portuguese, and French words for precious metals and sports produce the same results.
