Victor Wanyama will join former boss Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane next season.

A fee believed to be in the region of £11 million for the Kenyan midfielder has been accepted by Southampton. The player reportedly rejected a new contract at the club and therefore they decided to cash in on the player while they still had the chance.

Wanyama, 25, will bolster the Spurs midfield as they prepare for Champions League football. Leicester City also expressed interest in the player but he preferred to link up with Pochettino again.

Wanyama had previously requested a transfer from the club in 2015 after they sold his former midfield partner Morgan Schneiderlin. Spurs reportedly offered Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb to the Saints as part of a cash plus exchange deal before reaching an agreement over the fee.

The player is expected to undergo a medical at the Lane in the coming days.
