Two players currently seeking continental glory with their national teams are set for pastures new next season.

Martin Skrtel, Liverpool

Slovakian defender Martin Skrtel, 31, is set to leave Liverpool after eight years at Anfield. Skrtel has not featured much under new boss Jurgen Klopp and the imminent arrival of Schalke’s Joel Matip has lead to Skrtel being deemed surplus to requirements.

Turkish club Fenerbahce has reportedly had a bid of €7 million accepted by the Merseysiders and the Slovakia captain will undergo a medical at the Istanbul club after Euro 2016.

Nicolás Gaitán, SL Benfica

Atletico Madrid has secured the services of Argentine winger-cum-playmaker Nicolás Gaitán for €25 million subject to a medical.

Gaitán, 28, is currently on duty with the Argentina National Team in the USA for the Copa America Centenario.

The player will finalise the deal after the tournament.
