To our Terminal Community,

Before we wrap up the holiday season and move into the New Year, I want to take a minute to step back and say thank you. We’re a bigger and better company than we were a year ago and our community — the heart & soul of our business — is paramount to our success.

From securing $13M in funding to opening two new offices and increasing our client base by over 200%, our growth this year has made for an incredibly exciting year.

The infographic below highlights some of our greatest accomplishments for 2018. But before you dive in, I’d like to take a quick moment to share a few of the achievements that mean the most to me from a year of firsts:

Matching Opportunity with Talent

There’s nothing better than helping companies succeed while creating new career opportunities for talented engineers. In 2018, we were able to more than double the size of the Terminal community by logging over 30,000 hours to source and recruit the best technical talent in Canada. In the most competitive and in-demand areas like Data Science and Machine Learning, our community grew by over 325%.

Fueling Growth

We feel fortunate to have played a role in helping our clients grow and thrive in 2018. From FinTech to Real Estate technology to Healthcare, the innovation developed inside of Terminal is truly helping to change the world. And we’re not the only ones taking notice. Over the past 12 months, Terminal clients raised over $̶5̶0̶0̶M̶ $625M. We also were able to share in the celebration of one IPO and one successful acquisition.

Supporting Our Local Communities

At Terminal, we believe that we should be lifelong learners and the events we’ve hosted, including our Tech Talk series, aim to bring value not only to our members, but to the greater communities where we work. This year we hosted over 50 free events in our offices, welcoming more than 3,000 people through our doors. Terminal also dedicated over 200 hours of community service to help those in need, highlighted by the opportunity to be one of the first groups to break in The Food Bank of Waterloo Region’s fresh food packing facility.

As we look back at 2018, there’s much to celebrate. But we are even more excited about what’s to come. Together, we can help even more companies achieve their goals through remote teams and continue to bring amazing opportunities to incredibly talented tech professionals.

From all of us at the Terminal team, thank you for your support.
