At Terminal, we’re a community of lifelong learners that strive to absorb something new every day even if that’s a small, bite-sized insight. That said, we recognize that it’s easier to do when you have the opportunity to learn from world-class entrepreneurs and educators. That’s why we are excited to announce our Terminal Tech Talk Series!
Committed to inspire and bring our technical communities together, the Terminal Tech Talk series (TTT), provides world-renowned entrepreneurs, engineers, founders, and tech leaders a stage to share their hard-earned insights on topics ranging from office culture to soft skills to business growth. The series, which kicked of earlier this year, features a new presentation, fireside chat or AMA each month at one of our Terminal offices. The events not only give our community the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals but also provide the opportunity to ask questions and learn from one another in a laid-back, positive environment.
Back in January, we piloted the TTT concept with Canadian startup investor and advisor David Litwiller. We learned that the demand for this kind of learning opportunity in our community was huge.
Riding the success of David’s talk, we invited the formidable University of Waterloo professor and Problem Lab founder, Larry Smith, to our KW office in March.
In July, we officially kicked off TTT as a monthly series with the co-founder of L4 Ventures, Counterfactual, ETHGlobal, Hack The North and Peter Thiel Fellow, Liam Horne to discuss internet scale to blockchains through off-chain scaling techniques known as state channels.
The series continues this month with Alan Cannistraro, the founder of Rheo and the creator of the first-ever iOS app as well as many other innovative features at Apple and Facebook. Alan will share many lessons learned along the way transitioning from big companies to startup life as well as the importance of user empathy and design.
In addition, Alan will also cover how to pitch ideas effectively to senior executives and how to best support engineers in building and shipping product. You can sign up for Alan’s talk here.
