PSHS-CRC kicks off Summit of Young Ambassadors 2017

To achieve peace after World War II and to accept cultural diversity, 51 founding countries formed a worldwide organization that promotes Human rights and social progress. As of today, the United Nations already has 193 member countries, including the Philippines as a founding country.

In line with this international celebration, the Philippine Science High School- Caraga Region Campus commenced the Summit of Young Ambassadors 2017, last October 28, 2017 at the Grand Palace Hotel and Restaurant.

Scholars, Faculty and Staff dressed up to the occasion, wearing different traditional costumes of member countries of the UN, namely: Bahrain, Africa, Ukraine, China, India, United Kingdom, Thailand, Mexico, Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and the Philippines.

Chosen students which projected the most with their outfits were invited to be part of the “Man and Lady of the hour”, which was a mini-pageant as they were alsogiven time to talk about international issues and events. Shaina Delia G. Tomaneng of 8-Sunflower presenting United Kingdom and Haley Joel G. Muyco of 9-Calcium as a citizen of Thailand earned a magnificent triumph as they took the crown.

Core groups such as The 13th Scholars, Young Scientists, MaThinik, Debate Society, and Visual Crafters also held breakout sessions, co-related to their scopes as a club. It had Poetry Exhibitions, Magic, “Math is Fun!”, “Think now, Speak now!”, and Do it yourself crafts.

Not only the scholars, faculty and staff were present during the event, but also parents, guardians, and family members supported the affair all throughout the duration of the program. The Philippine Information Agency — Caraga also covered the summit for a news coverage.

It has been the first-ever United Nations event of PSHS-CRC on its fourth year operating as a Science high school in the Caraga Region.
