Pisay applicants to ‘race’ for 2021 admission

Due to the ongoing implementation of basic health protocols in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s conduct of the National Competitive Examination (NCE) is cancelled and will be having the RACE (Requirements for Admission, Criteria, and Evaluation) system for admission of applicants for academic year 2021–2022, Philippine Science High School-Caraga Region Campus (PSHS-CRC) Students Services Division (SSD) chief Jasmine S. Gumapac said, Friday.

In a virtual press conference last November 27, Gumapac emphasized that the qualifiers are to be assessed through their grades and their essays.

She has also explained in the specific guidelines for the said admission system including the modes of sending the documents needed, order of processes, and the deadlines for application.

The campus is expecting 90 new scholars after the conduct of screenings for the next school year.

The press conference was conducted through Zoom Meetings wherein local media were invited by the school and was made public through Facebook Live, as part of the 8th founding anniversary celebration of the campus.

Meanwhile, campus director Engr. Ramil A. Sanchez mentioned in the same press conference that the campus currently has 533 students and that the PSHS system will continue to adhere to promoting science and technology and providing quality secondary education with emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
