PSHS-CRC holds orientation for S.Y. 2021–2022

Philippine Science High School-CARAGA Region Campus (PSHS-CRC), on Monday, conducted the PSHS-CRC General Students’ and Parents’ Orientation and Parenting Talk Program, and the General Parents-Teachers Association (GPTA) Assembly and Election S.Y. 2021–2022, via Zoom and Facebook Live.

With more than 500 participants watching from their digital devices, the orientation program covered essential information regarding matters on the second school year of blended learning setup amid the ongoing health crisis.

The program kicked off with campus director, Engr. Ramil Sanchez’s, welcome remarks, followed by the introduction of the resource person, Dr. Kathleen Grace C. Gamutan, by Kenneth Garcia. Thereafter, Dr. Gamutan discussed about “Strengthening the Support at Home for Online Learners: A quick guide for Parents/Guardians,” and an open forum and awarding portion for the speaker were held.

Moreover, Engr. Ramil Sanchez and CID chief, Mary Ann M. Ganzon Ph.D, presented the members of the Management Committee (MANCOM) and an orientation on the upcoming school year’s new changes and policies. Enumerated are some of the information discussed regarding SY 2021–2022:

  • Remote and Blended Learning until December 2021. Vaccination encouraged.
  • Classes starts on September 1, 2021, CID will present a new schedule of classes.
  • Scholars are enjoined to immediately report any problem/s encountered.
  • Scholars/parents should maintain a permanent communication line with the School.
  • Parents are reminded of their crucial role in the monitoring. Log in to the system.
  • PSHSS has modified some of the policies in this situation.
  • SCALE, ALA, and SIP programs have changes.
  • New guideline for the PSHS System Standard Transmutation Table of Grade.
  • PTA will be organized at Classroom and Grade Levels. GPTA will be representative.
  • Use PSHS Properties responsibly: Gadgets borrowed. Official Email, others.

Following the presentation is Grade 7–9 Discipline Officer, Lily Dale M. Subla, with the orientation of the PSHS System Student Code of Conduct. The portion discussed various actions of scholars that can be accountable for different stages of offenses, as well as the processes of handling reports or complaints.

Present at the conference’s latter half, former GPTA President Dexter Soberano delivered the presentation of outgoing GPTA officers and financial reports. Afterwards was the sorting of students in their official sectioning via breakout rooms, facilitated by the class advisers. The election of PTA officers per section was then conducted, followed by the GPTA elections spearheaded by Mr. Soberano.
