PSHS-CRC hosts Mindanao-wide PBO 2024: SULONG

Despite several days of heavy rainfall and widespread flooding, the Philippine Science High School — Caraga Region Campus (PSHS-CRC) successfully conducted the 7th annual Philippine Biology Olympiad (PBO) competition as one of the satellite testing centers in Mindanao.

The four-hour examination for the national elimination round was conducted on February 3 and participated by over 10 high schools from Mindanao, with over 37 participants being PSHS-CRC scholars.

The country’s premier biology olympiad is renowned for its advocacy to identify, inspire, empower, and support the next generation of leaders in the life sciences and to develop their international network.

This year’s theme is SULONG, meaning to “advance,” “forward,” and “progress.”

According to the PBO organizers, it is a call to put advocacies and the love for the life sciences first and demonstrates how a progressive approach to science leads students and future leaders of the nation to holistic development and better opportunities and learning opportunities.
