I think the responses I have seen about the manifesto are exactly his point. Whether or not you believe his points to be true or valid, they are equally valid as the opposing point of view.

Anybody who thinks there is not an ideological influence on what Google deems true, morally correct or how they want to operate is being dishonest to themselves.

Women and men are different. In general, they do different things better than the other biological sex. They also do things worse than other biological sex. Does anybody honestly believe there is no biological differences between human beings born with different genetic makeups? Of course there are differences. His argument, in my extremely humble opinion, was to put people in jobs that best suit their skill set.

Could he have done this a better way? Yes.

Do I think Google had the right to terminate him? Yes.

Do I think it was the right thing to terminate him? Absolutely no.

By firing this guy Google has created a martyr for those who have a far more extreme view on the issues in which he respectfully discussed in his manifesto. It was a bad move strategically. It will make the problem much worse internally and now the world will follow along as Google tries to extinguish the fire.

This was an outstanding opportunity for Google to show the world they value free speech, open dialogue and constructive criticism. Unfortunately, what we all saw was exactly what we knew would happen. An employee with different political views was fired for expressing them in a respectful manner, albeit maybe not as tactfully as it could have been.

I’m not here to give my opinion on gender or race within corporate structures. I only wanted to express what so many people feel in North America today. If you don’t fall in line with the leftist narrative of race, gender, politics and culture you are bad, immoral, bigoted and not worthy of expressing your opinion. This problem is not only a Google problem. It’s a cultural problem that we must remedy and I feel the only possible way to do that is open, honest dialogue. I won’t hold my breath.
