Unless you are going to the game in Houston this Sunday (and dropping a load of cash) you, like the rest of the 112 million in America will be watching the Super Bowl in front of a Television. If you are not going to a bar, here are great ways to host your own party and turn that boring bash into a famous festivity.

Invitations and People- Make sure to send some good invitations letting people know about your banger. Many people get invited to multiple parties so you want to make sure your invitation is enticing. Also, maybe try to invite people who don’t know each other so well, because getting to know people at parties is half the fun- just don’t invite your creepy Facebook friends.

Food- Let’s start with the simple things. You need great food. It’s obvious but somehow millions still mess it up every year. The Super Bowl only happens once a year, don’t be cheap. Get messy, delicious food.

Don’t Forget about Betting- The game is really long- including the halftime show we are talking a four hour event. So, you got to keep it entertaining and one of the great ways to do that is betting. Obviously you should place bets on the score of the game, but get funky with it- try betting on what color the Gatorade-shower will be.

Drink- You don’t want to run out of beer or soft drinks. If you don’t drink alcohol, your friends probably do, so get some cold beers. Maybe, stock up with a keg or some six packs. Just remember, DON’T RUN OUT OF DRINKS. You may also want to try a drinking game- you can drink every time the announcer says a player’s name or something else obvious. However, always be aware of drinking too much- you never want to miss the game or give your friends trouble getting home.

TV- Unfortunately, you are not at the game, but you want to feel like you are. So don’t you dare watch on a 27” piece of junk. Make sure to watch on a good quality TV because no matter how good the party is, if no one can see the game you look like a complete idiot.

Rating the Commercials- Even if they don’t want to admit it, everybody loves super bowl commercials- Moms, Dads, Kids, Dogs, Grandmas, everyone! They are the best commercials out there and you can always count on them to be exciting. An even better way to keep people engaged during commercials is to rate them, or try guessing which company is next, or something else- just make sure to give them attention too.

Put the Kids to Bed- I’m all for kids in general, and on almost every other day in the year you should spend time with them, but on Super Bowl night they should not be at your party. They don’t care about the game, and when kids get bored they always let you know and not in the cute way. Even if they are interested you don’t want a little 7 year old asking you what a touchdown is the whole game. No Kids.
