“Run,” she said. “Before
the second bell has
rung and the queen
has awakened from
her nap. You must not
let the queen find you
in her chambers. There
will be hell to pay.” I
pulled up my trousers,
grabbing my shirt and
shoes as I darted for
the window. “Not that
way,” she said. “Through
this door. It leads to
a secret passageway
that will take you outside
the castle. I will let
you know when it is
safe…
