As a true blue Cebuana, someone who was born and raised here in Cebu City, it was no wonder why I grew up to be adventurous and a foodie. I had spent my entire life living here in Cebu and here are some tips for you to remember when traveling here in Cebu [specially for the FIRST TIMERS]

  1. Wear Comfortable Loose Linens or clothing in General. Cebu can always be sunnier than the rest of the archipelago and this is the best description of having a tropical lifestyle. So it is best if you will wear your most comfortable clothes and avoid wearing excessive jewelry too. You wouldn't want to attract the snatchers, do you?
  2. Wear Comfortable Footwear. This will allow you to explore the urban jungle as well as the outskirts of the city. This will also protect your feet from dust and grime.
  3. Bring extra cash and loose change. This will come in handy if you would take the public transport like the jeepneys to go around the city. In the uptown area, most of the tourist spots are accessible by foot since they are near each other.
  4. Bring your own water bottle. Just to be on the safe side, you may bring your water containers such as Nalgene to keep you hydrated under the scorching heat of the sun.
  5. Explore. The city is open for you to discover and explore. Generally, Cebuanos are very accommodating to travelers. You will be able to find the history and culture of our city perfectly blended with each other and it will be impossible to miss the art deco pieces scattered all over.
