With the looming cost of living crisis cutting spending a little short this year, it’s no wonder a lot of us are looking much closer to home for a quick getaway.

Tropical North Queensland is a destination that offers everything you could possibly want from a tropical getaway: world class resorts, excellent food (if you know where to look), and a range of activities from snorkelling our famous reef, to exploring ancient rainforests, and swimming amongst waterfalls.

Here is our quick getaway guide to Tropical North Queensland.

Getting there

You can fly direct to Cairns several times per day from most major cities to access the best Tropical North Queensland has to offer.

Depending on where you’re staying, you’ll need to organise either car hire or an airport transfer to your accommodation. Mostly, people choose to base themselves in the airport arrival hub of Cairns, or the beach town of Port Douglas, or the slightly quieter Palm Cove.
