On Work-related Personal Development
One thing that’s super cool about working at iXperience is that a part of our annual objectives is personal development. Mine are to read 1 book a month, become a better teacher, and grow my professional network in Cape Town. That means I get rewarded (financially!) for reading. Pretty cool.
One of my favorite quotes recently is “There are no bad decisions, only tradeoffs”. This is no exception. Reading is starting to feel like a chore—like even when I read for pleasure to not think about work, it’s almost like I’m still working.
Seems almost like a clever tool devised by Google to permeate the culture of “always working”.
