Could ‘The Great Pause’ Lead To ‘The Great Awakening’?

‘The Great Pause’ is a very succinct description of what has happened to us. I think this term applies to everyone, even the heroes fighting on the front lines. Not everyone is locked indoors and has a spare six hours a day to reflect on their lives of course. But all the same, as a society we are taking stock. The ‘pause’ as it were, isn’t necessarily a physical one, though it is for many of us.

We have paused on a much deeper level. We all can feel it. A fundamental shift has taken place in our world. The tide has come in closer than we thought it could, and one of our sandcastles has been destroyed: putting its temporary nature on full display. If one castle can fall, then perhaps all of them can.

We weren’t prepared for the tide. Now we have an opportunity to acknowledge it and move forward with it in mind, instead of denying its existence.

Perhaps during this ‘Great Pause’, we can manifest a ‘ Great Awakening’?

What would such an event look like?

Ignorance was destroyed; knowledge arose; darkness was destroyed; light arose — as happens in one who is heedful, ardent, & resolute. But the pleasant feeling that arose in this way did not invade my mind or remain…
