The Daughter Hated Mondays So Much, Then She Opened Fire on an Elementary School
The darkest Monday in school history
“I don’t like Mondays.”
That was the chilling reason Brenda Spencer gave after opening fire on an elementary school one Monday morning.
Armed with a rifle, she turned an ordinary school day into a nightmare, leaving her community shattered and in fear.
But what led her to commit such a senseless act? And why did she blame it on something as simple as the day of the week?
“I just did it for the fun of it. I don’t like Mondays. This lightens up the day.
I shot a pig, I think.
And I want to shoot more.
I’m having too much fun to surrender. I had no reason for it; it was just a lot of fun. It was like shooting ducks in a pond. They look like a herd of cows standing around.” — Brenda
Brenda was born in San Diego, California, on April 3rd, 1962.
She was the third of four children.
