Gottwood Special

Hello and welcome to the first edition of Snipadvisor’s Tune Catcher. I hope to bring you a taste of all the music I love. New and old. Hopefully you will enjoy some too. To start with I’m doing a special Gottwood edition. A cracking little festival in Anglesey, North Wales. Big up!

First I want to say a quick thank you to Senners, he drove me there and back from the festival and helped make it a quality time. He also put up with me for the whole weekend, which is impressive! Thanks to everybody else too! This first tune is for him.
Never Wanna Lose You — Doc Daneeka
This tune is not on Spotify! shocking.
Tunes of the Weekend
At least the ones that were most memorable for me. At gottwood they are all good tunes.
Give it to Me Baby — Rick James. Heard this a fair few times, perfect summer tune.
Whirlpool productions — From: Disco to Disco. Only heard it once I think but it is a banger.
Then my favourite band of the weekend, with the quality tune.
Too Much Information — Dele Sosimi
Dele Sosimi was a class act and a showman who got the whole crowd involved. Part of Afrobeat a ~10 piece African band. So impressive. To top it all off the sun came out while they were playing. Even God was pleased.
Now I’m going to try go through each of the stages and talk about a favourite tune or act I can remember.
Treehouse
For me, the best act at the Treehouse has to be Helena Hauf. One of my mates was raving about her and he stayed for the full 3 hour set. Must have been good! Tune of the set, supplied by my man Senners was ….
Walled garden
I spent 2 out of the 4 nights at the walled garden for close. You had to queue to get in but it was so worth it. Gottwood likes to make sure everyone had room to boogie, just what you need when the tunes are pumping. Favourite tune here is probably Craig David’s second to last song, the second to last of the whole festival …
The Barn
Nice improvement from last year. Proper DnB sweat box with more space than last year. Loved it. My favourite artists was Loefah doing a jungle set — don’t think I picked up any tunes unfortunately. I missed Lenzman set but I heard it was pure liquid. So here is a class Lenzman tune instead.
Maybe he even played it. Enjoy.
The Lawn
Class stage for the sunny days, fair few of us got frazzled here on the Friday.

Best act apart from Dele Sosimi probably Ross from Friends with their song:
Talk to me you’ll understand — Ross from Friends
Again credit goes to Sen for telling us to go see them.
Also Red Axes where another class act check out:
The Wooden Owl
This was a nice funky disco chill stage where a lot of the food stalls are. Always enjoyed boogying past or staying for a couple of tunes. Got from disco to disco from here. But another tune I caught was
One Night Affair — C.O.M.B.I (On spotify I use the O’Jays version)
Nice and chilling, got this on a drive by Shazam on the way back from the pub.
Trigon
One of Gottwood’s best stages I would say. Chilling by day especially with the sun out. Then fair carnage by night with all the lasers etc. Tunes were on point too. Act of the weekend has to be Fritz Wentink he has lots of bangers. Eg Everybody Knows, Blaise Montoya. Their are loads.
Another great act on here was Move D playing his disco set, I think this was on the friday night. Possibly caught these tunes here, unsure. But they are definitley tunes.
Sounds of Jericho — Octave One (Again not on spotify unfortunatley)
Moving round the lake…
Wooden Owl Head
Another daytime chilling stage, with a good funky beat usually. Where I first heard the Rick James song.
Also think I got this funky song from here.
Right in the Socket — Shalamar, DJ Bronco
Ruftys Lab
Small garage type stage, good for a little boogying and a change of scenery. Unsure if I caught any tunes at this one. Sorry. Let me know if you have any suggestions.
Ricky’s Disco
Another nice improvement from last year. Now a much bigger tent with disco balls on ceiling. Can’t remember any tunes I don’t think but did see Dave Beer and his traditional stage dive which is always enjoyable.
The Curve
Enjoyable stage, especially when the others get warm. A nighttime stage. Good lights however can be confusing because it doesn’t really have a front. Saw some decent people here, ask senners. Possible tune I snared in here was
Hunter — MIASKO
Not hundred percent that’s where it came from but it’s a tune.
Homeless Tunes
There are a couple of other tunes that I managed to shazam during the festival that I want to share with you. Unfortunatley I cannot remember where I heard them or who played them. They are
Chlomissa Original Mix — Jey kurmis
Both have tasty beats.
Most Missed Act
Act I most missed from last year was probably Crazy P, the live band. They played at the lawn last year and it was class. A good tune by them is:
Finally a song I got at the festival but after the music finished back at the tents was Roses — Outkast. Apparently I should already have known it, but I didn’t and it’s a tune. So if you don’t know it, get to know.
Right that’s it for the first edition of the Tune Catcher. I hope to start writing as regularly as I put together collections of music I think people would enjoy so stay tuned. Let me know if you have any tune recommendations or collection ideas.
All tunes in this and any other Tune Catcher blog will be available as playlists on TheTuneCatcher’s spotify account. This one is called Gottwood Special.
One of my favourite hobbies is discovering new music. I have to give a big shout out to Spotify for making that so easy. Very appreciated! Now I hope to share new music with anyone who wants it. Enjoy! Follow The Tune Catcher publication, I will try to bring you some new music every month at least.
